Journal 8

To me, collaboration is when a two or more people join together to to make something, usually for creative or intellectual purposes. I would say that typically, it refers to things along the lines of an article or book or a research paper, or a song, a movie, a piece of art, and so on. It's when at least two people combine their ideas to create something greater than either of them could have accomplished on their own. Collaboration is also a more powerful way of showing a particular perspective or point of view, because it's one that multiple people have, instead of just a single author. Overall, it incorporates more ideas, less bias, and it is more of a well-rounded piece.

Collaboration can be hugely beneficial to some forms of everyday writing. A Zine could be created about a certain topic, and more than one person could contribute to it, to enhance the content. A tattoo could dawn by more than one tattoo artist to incorporate multiple peoples ideas on how to draw a particular design. A tombstone could be designed for a deceased person by multiple family members and loved ones in order to get the best information possible about the person for the tombstone. Collaborating for everyday writing makes the piece of everyday writing even more powerful and meaningful, because it represents more than just one persons idea for a certain message or purpose.
