Being a writer in the 21st century is clearly very different than it was years and years ago. The world has started to rely very heavily on technology and does so through writing on digital programs. Today, the internet serves as an engine that encompasses a lot of our everyday tasks. I think that writing today, would be nearly impossible with out the technology we have today. Having technology especially so easily ready at the tips of our fingers with the use of mobile devices makes it even easier to circulate media and everyday forms of writing. I agree with Emily's input on how Lessig explained the act of quoting and how he feels the nature of writing gives people the right to demand such lengths to be taken when their work wants to be quoted. This is true. I find it interesting how he used his writing, his words, but at the same time used other's words (quotes) to further his points. In today's writing I feel like it is not necessary to quote others, although many people use similar writing ideas or concepts. In digital writing (ex twiter), you don't need to quote someone. You simply publish a tweet in a specific number of characters.
In a way I disagree with some points the article makes. It mentions that the internet wasn't the impetus on new forms of writing, but in a way it was. The internet has allowed for many different websites or sites in general to be published to further the writing process. Technology allows us to communicate using almost any form of text, which is very interesting and convenient .
